Early Intervention

Learning & Readiness

Early Intervention is a program for children from birth to age three who show significant indications of a delay in physical, cognitive, speech, social and/or self-help areas of their development.

Early Intervention also provides monitoring services for children who may be at risk for delays due to medical diagnoses, low birth weight or failure to thrive.

A multidisciplinary team provides assessments in cooperative efforts between Southeastern Developmental Services (SDS) and Southeastern Board of Cooperative Education.

It is believed that if a child receives Early Intervention Services in their infancy and toddler years they have a higher rate of success when they enter elementary school.
