Residential Services

Southeastern Developmental Services operates 6 residential group homes throughout their community. They provide twenty-four hour care to the residents.  SDS staff not only assists consumers in their daily living, but are role models in their homes.

 

It is one of the Residential Services goals to provide safe, home-like environments, encouraging consumers to live their lives to the fullest. 

 

Residential Services Offered:

• Money Management

• Home Living Skills such as laundry, cleaning, menu planning, cooking and shopping.

• Hygiene skills 

• Recreational Activities within the home and community.

 

SDS Residential facilities are staffed with two and 1/2 day shifts, which offer three staff per home. Staff are specifically trained to ensure the best care is provided for our residents. To augment this care, a Licensed Practical Nurse is available 24 hours a day for consultation. 

 

Health and Wellness

SDS strives to meet the needs of the “whole” person balancing both work and fun.  By offering fishing outings, trips, picnics with games, swimming, softball games and relaxing hikes, it is SDS’ goal to provide a well rounded life experience.

 

Consumers are provided with an integrated approach to comprehensive medical care.  Our belief is that individuals benefit most when medical, behavioral and social issues are addressed simultaneously.  SDS treats the WHOLE individual.  The Medical Department is staffed with a Licensed Practical Nurse and a medical assistant that partner with community health care providers, SDS staff members and families to pledge care that is sensitive to the consumers’ unique needs.”
