Residential Services
Safety and Security
Southeastern Developmental Services operates three residential group homes throughout the community, providing 24-hour care and support to residents. SDS staff assist individuals with daily living activities while serving as positive role models and helping residents develop the skills they need to live as independently as possible.
One of the primary goals of Residential Services is to provide safe, comfortable, home-like environments that encourage individuals to live fulfilling lives and reach their fullest potential.
Residential Services Offered

Money Management: Support with budgeting and managing personal finances.

Home Living Skills: Assistance with laundry, cleaning, menu planning, cooking, and shopping.

Personal Hygiene Skills: Support with daily hygiene and personal care.

Recreational Activities: Opportunities to participate in activities both at home and in the community.
SDS residential facilities operate with two full day shifts and one half-day shift, providing three staff members per home. Staff receive specialized training to ensure residents receive quality care and support. to further enhance resident care, a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is available 24 hours a day for consultation.
Health & Wellness
SDS strives to meet the needs of the whole person by balancing work, personal growth, health, and recreation. Through fishing outings, trips, picnics and games, swimming, softball games, and relaxing hikes, we aim to provide residents with well-rounded experiences that promote physical health, social connections, and enjoyment.
Residents receive an integrated approach to comprehensive medical care. We believe individuals benefit most when their medical, behavioral, and social needs are addressed together. Our approach focuses on supporting the whole person while respecting each individual's unique needs and preferences.
The Medical Department is staffed by a Licensed Practical Nurse and a medical assistant who work in partnership with community health care providers, SDS staff, and families to coordinate care that is responsive to each resident's individual needs.
